Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Where in the world?

I don't think this looks anything like my Edinburgh!

Our half curate (he's only half ours and poor guy is looking after two vacant charges in his final year of training, which I'm sure is above and beyond!) came round for lunch. We wanted to go over the final prep for our AGM on Sunday and to discuss Christmas services and what we realistically can do this year during the vacancy period. It was a useful meeting, he's going to make a very good rector for someone, but not us, sadly. His wife is a CofS minister with her own charge, so ideally he will be in a church near that. They'll only need one rectory/manse between them so that's going to be an interesting one!
Our next task was to pick up Isobel after school and look after her until Eilidh finished Scripture Union an hour later. We then took them both to Eilidh's violin lesson in Leith - where my main blip was taken. Isobel is starting to learn violin at school and interestingly has the same teacher as Eilidh who has private lessons. As a further conincidence, that same teacher is coming to our Christmas Fair event on the 30th to perform as part of the Live Music Now charity's outreach programme in this case for young children. Do come along that afternoon if you can, it's an amazing Community event. It's main purpose is the funding of the Christmas lights and the 30th is the switch on day. Our church is the centre of the event with a huge range of stalls and events.
I took the tram from Leith to John Lewis for a Clarins event, I had a couple of glasses of fizz, bought a couple of things and had a very nice hand massage. I left with an abundance of free gifts. Always nice to be pampered.
The extra was of the rather fine moon taken looking East from the Morrisons carpark, while we were looking after Isobel this afternoon.
Thanks for all the lovely comments for Bonnie yesterday, she's going to be fun!
