Nightly She Sings On Yon Pomegranate Tree

You'd expect to be tripping over pomegranate trees in Verona, what with the shameless R&J exploitation, but I only saw one, tucked away in a churchyard.   I did (I hesitate to claim I studied) Romeo and Juliet at school; it's funny how some lines stick in your head even decades after the event.

We spent another day zig zagging round the city.  We started in the Giardino Giusti, a fabulous Renaissance garden of a 16th Century Palazzo.   Its considered one of the finest examples of an Italian garden.  Very beautiful and not crowded.   We spent a couple of hours there before heading inside to the residence.

A wander about the town followed, a nice little lunch and an apero after which we checked out the fortified Castelvecchio Bridge.   We had a last couple of schnifters in our neighbourhood bar, Osteria del Bugiardi.   Early start for our next destination tomorrow.
