Dukes Wood

We moved house 2.5 years ago, just four miles east along the valley. I love everything about our new home but I miss the close vicinity to the Tyne and our river walks.  Instead however, we have some beautiful woods behind our new home.  In recent months they have been a muddy mess with the endless rain, but at the moment with the drier weather and the autumn colours they are a joy to walk and run in.  

This is one of my favourite paths where the forest floor is clear of undergrowth and all year round covered in a carpet of beech leaves.
