The Cousins

We’ve had a wonderful day out with the family from Sydney.

After breakfast, we’d booked to go for a wine tasting at McLeish winery. It was probably one of the best wine tastings we’ve ever been to. We all felt the same. Excellent wines paired with excellent cheese. We had the daughter of the winery owners do our tasting. Came away with some good stuff. Martin and I had never heard of Verdelho before, and really liked it.

Then a stop for a lunch at the Hunter Valley Gardens, where this picture was taken. Martin and Kevin are both lovers of Shiraz, hence the photo! There were lots of quaint little shops in this village.

We stopped for lunch and had a call from Jon saying he’d just had an interview with the largest forex company in the world and they just offered him a job! Praise the Lord!!! So Jon will be moving to Sydney in January. He’ll have a week training in December in Sydney, then back home, and will start in January. We are thrilled, to say the least.

While we were at the Gardens, I realised what the Christmas lights spectacular was right here, so we went to check it out and will be going back later to see the lights.

So back home for a little rest, and then out again in the evening. The lights were just amazing! We were blown away by all that was on display. Very creative indeed. They had food trucks there so dinner was sorted.

A really lovely day out with the fam. They leave tomorrow :(.
