Cheering us on a cold day
You can see it was cold because the musician is wearing gloves. His cheerful music was just what I needed this morning. I called at White stuff to pick up Margret’s pyjama bottoms and return the ones that did not fit.
Then to the hospital. I was lucky again with a space in the free carpark by the bus station.
Margret had a bad night, but had brightened this morning and even managed to walk a short distance with the Zimmer frame. The abnormal movements are very troublesome. We talked to the junior doctor about ways to let all members of staff know that Margret has no control over them.
Some things puzzle me. We asked about mild night sedation but the doctor said that she could not prescribe any and it was up to the consultant in 2 days time. Things have changed a lot since I was at the same stage. These decisions would have been down to me as the ward doctor and ratified by the consultant at his ward round. If he disagreed I would have been told! If I wasn’t sure I could ask a more senior medic for advice.
I stayed for three hours. The new Wi-Fi hotspot had stopped working and the cable was not consistently charging the new phone.
I went to Aldi for a food shop. The. I realised I had left my iPad with Margret so I had to return. The carpark was a traffic jam. There were no spaces but someone would not move over to let the rest of us escape. Nightmare!
I eventually made it back home to tackle yesterday’s challenging washing (Margret had been sick).
I just want to chill out tonight.
