Marjorie's ramblings

Christmas cactus

This cactus has resided in quite a hot conservatory all summer. (Well, relatively hot!) Now, in the depths of winter (slight exaggeration) it is flowering prolifically.

I brought it inside for the photograph, but I think I must put it back pronto so the flowers don't drop in the heat!

I was later arriving at the hospital today but was able to stay later. Margret had a busy morning, including a walk with the physio along the ward and back.

Then she was taken to one of the dining tables for lunch. An old friend of hers, Ann (without an E) was sitting next to her. It was hard to persuade them to eat because they were talking so much.

There were 10 patients at 2 tables and it was noisy and happy. These patients are mainly in single rooms so they are a bit devoid of company.

I went for a sandwich and bumped into an old colleague. She now works as a community matron for the elderly, so we had a good chat about things and she gave me advice about a community physio. Margret is likely to need one in the future.

One of Margret's nurses today is usually in theatre, but the theatre area is being renovated. I was able to ask her about my forthcoming spinal injection which was very helpful.

I called to see Jenny and Dennis before coming home.

It felt like a hectic day somehow!
