Red Kite

Had a disturbed night - the central heating boiler ‘frost protect’ kicked in at 2 a.m. for an hour, and then again around 5…. It was rather cold overnight - the car registered -5C as I was defrosting it. We met up with our daughter for coffee  - Junction32 Outlet at Castleford.

Sodding Christmas music blaring from the Tannoy - shops also playing ‘festive’ tunes.

I decided to get some new walking boots and will investigate returning the squeaky ones…I only bought cheap ones (£30, reduced from £70) this time - but I have had them before and they are fine, but I just wear through the soles quickly..not going for the more expensive ones this time as they are obviously not built to last longer - despite the ‘good for 5000 miles’ claim.

I went out for an afternoon squeak - and several red kites were floating around with the afternoon sun showing off their wonderful plumage. I used the focus tracking feature on my new camera - it is incredible when it locks on to a moving subject…
