Nov 22nd, really:)

It looks quite pretty and summery - but it’s wicked cold, especially in open spaces where the wind is gusting in my face. I’m only out to do a few essential errands - post birthday cards, pop in to the pharmacy and the co-op. This little flower and the blue sky caught my attention.
The decorator is back. Another phase of making progress/living in a muddle and a mess for a while. He’s going to repaint parts of the bedrooms which were already done, but subsequently damaged by roof leaks. And then my living room, one half at a time. He’s quite a congenial person to have around.
Continuing to shovel much bird food outside. In the evening my Orkney friends and I watched Occupied City. A Steve McQueen film of Amsterdam. The sound is a detailed history of the locations where Jewish people hid and were arrested in the early 40s. And the vision is contemporary Amsterdam, showing aspects of city life, including the ordinary everyday , and various protests. Without explanation. Quite weird and disorienting. The folks in Stromness gave up, I stuck with it. Not really recommended though. Also it’s 4 hours long:)
