A morning of housework and cooking, then after lunch I drove into Dumfries. I had a wee wander around the shops, something I don’t usually get time to do, and then went for a sauna and a swim. At 4.30, it was time to meet Luke, Maria and Otter off the Edinburgh bus, and twenty minutes later we met Sarah, Chris and Merry from the train. Somehow we fitted in my car with all the luggage!

Company Bakery in Musselburgh, where Luke works, had made him a birthday cake - his birthday isn’t until next weekend, but the cake wouldn’t last that long, so we shared half of it tonight. It was a vegan lemon and blackberry one, and very tasty, even for someone like me who is not a big fan of cake :-)
