Back to sunshine and
blue sky....it lifts my spirits...
It's most essential!

I was up having my coffee in sunshine by 8 but I was late out the door.
My plan was to take the route towards Mittry Lake and stop at Luz's Cacti Ranch. It opened at 11 AM.
I took my first photo from the roadway. It is a very appealing adobe-style building with a gift shop, food service and an outdoor patio space. True to its name, there are plenty of cacti!
I had a lovely chat with the owner who was manning the gift shop this morning. He rubbed his hands together and said how cold he was. I had to laugh and told him it wasn't cold for Canadians. In fact, it felt like summer to me.
The gift shop is so packed with items that I had to side-step in several places to avoid knocking something over. There are food items like honey, dates and pecans. There's jewelry, clothing, housewares....Of course, cacti is the theme for many items.
The outdoor patio extends around the building to accommodate the food services. It, too, features cacti and is shaded by big trees.
I found some things I couldn't live without and headed for home. I will have to come back for more including tamales.
I'm back to my sewing machine for the afternoon. Turkey soup would be a good idea for dinner.
