I'm going to miss the
Marketplace when the quilt shop
is no longer here

I enjoyed my coffee before 8, then headed off to the Arizona Marketplace just after 9.
I made the Farmhouse Cafe, a take-out window, my first stop for breakfast. They made me a great breakfast sandwich with egg, bacon and cheese. I sat and looked around the marketplace noting the temporary nature of it all.
It is arranged in rows of metal awnings over cement. The vendors put up their temporary partitions with an opening onto the cement aisleway. There is a large parking lot on the west side. As soon as the snowbirds leave, so do the vendors and the awnings become cover for recreation vehicles that are stored over the summer months.
I watched a female grackle patrol the area around the Farmhouse Cafe. i see them in areas like these where food might be readily available. I don't see them in residential areas so much. Although these birds take care of insect control, they are known to be pesky. They make a lot of noise and can cause a lot of damage to agricultural crops. Here in the US, they are protected as migratory birds. I've not seen them in Canada.
I made my way to the quilt store once again. I found some great fabric. I was thinking that once the quilt store is gone, I really won't have a reason to come here anymore.
I'm home for a quiet day. I need to get my Christmas lights up on my front windows and plug in the cactus tree.
