I’m loving this book, recommended by Lynne. It’s really for English teachers but it’s so interesting for any keen reader. Chapters include “On power, gender and control” (My Last Duchess), “On social responsibility“ (An inspector calls), “On Gaining a Voice” (Jane Eyre and Wild Sargasso Sea), “On seeing things differently” (Noughts and Crosses). Lucky the young people who have Carol Atherton as their teacher.
