Physie

Tonight we went to see Olivia compete in the National Finals of Physical Culture (aka Physie). She was in the 15 years age group. They rehearsed from 10.30am and we are just home at 12.51 am. A very long day. The Sydney Opera House was the venue and all tickets sold out within about 15 minutes.

The girls and ladies had a rest for 2 hours and met families and friends for dinner. The girls dressed up in formal dresses which was a highlight for many. Afterwards they all posed for photos.

Physie has a set of five different routines and styles of exercise and dance set to catchy modern music. Girls and women all around Australia learn the same routine and come together to perform even though they haven’t met before. It’s amazing how precise it is. There are no rules to exclude men but they don’t participate.
