River
The weather was lovely this morning when I walked Django, and today's advent Turf challenge led me and Hodge to head for the Esk in the Estate - from opposite directions. He was on a bike, so it was no contest, and I had to go on a big loop to get back on track. I followed the river into the town, and when reaching Kirkhill, I saw this view. I felt that I captures how the Pentlands dominant the town.
After handling emails that may lead to one or two people being added to my team - one only for three months - I went into work. Apart from an excellent webinar that I watched with my PhD students, I spent most of the afternoon talking to them and my former PhD student, J.
When the office emptied, I tried to get to know my new work laptop, but it wasn't a great experience. It's a fully managed one, so I didn't have permission to install three packages that I need for my work - and fired off an email asking how to do it. I'm used to using my work laptop for personal stuff, but I'll have to get my own now.
When I left the office it was pouring with rain, and I had to run to the bus stop to avoid a long wait in the rain. This meant that I was home in decent time for the meal that A had started preparing.
