A tree has arrived
It must have been raining much harder than I thought when we went for a walk yesterday, as my coat was still very wet this morning. I chose a different one to wear to work.
Standing on the platform at Raynes Park was very cold, but it was sleeting when I emerged from Shepherd's Bush tube. I still got a coffee – another free one with a Caffè Nero loyalty card – but I walked to work through Westfield to stay dry for a few moments longer. Drinking coffee while carrying my umbrella was a balancing trick.
Nobody was staying late this evening, so I left before 5:30 pm. Somebody put up a Christmas tree in White City last week. It looked lovely this evening on the way to the tube station. I shouldn't have stopped at Tesco for the pork pie to eat on the way back, but I did.
I had checked, and trains out of Waterloo were disrupted, so I used the District Line back to Wimbledon. It was a crowded train, but I managed to get a seat in the back carriage; I must remember that trick. It does make the walk down the platform on arrival seem very long. I started to doze as we pulled into Wimbledon, so the walk woke me up.
