Degrading the View
I was on high alert this morning for the arrival of a Stromness Selkie who was flying in from Orkney . Her flight was delayed by an hour so our original 10am coffee meet up coincided with the whole of Edinburgh thinking that 11am was the perfect time to stop and do the same. The queue at the restaurant at level 5 in John Lewis had a queue out of the door and winding round by the computers so we decided to take our custom elsewhere. Starbucks also with a queue but a smaller one was the chosen spot where we found a seat to have a blether. Unfortunately it was a much shorter one that we had planned but a lunch engagement for her with another Orcadian concentrated our minds wonderfully. It was so lovely to see her.
I had occasion to walk through the Christmas Market to get to JL and at least I managed a blip against a lovely blue sky although the smell from cooking sausages was not so great. The sun has disappeared this afternoon and it seems Darragh has sent his calling card ahead of his visit tonight.
I can’t believe how quickly another Friday has come around but that means I have this week’s wind down with the neighbours over our TGIF drinks at the Marriott to look forward to.
