Gala night
Backblipped Saturday 7th December
Every day we are given a copy of the daily programme (it’s left in your cabin the evening before) and today’s navigational fact was that we would pass near the wreck of RMS Titanic.
I was a little tired this morning but we still managed the now usual activities of lectures, choir, bridge club, art class and time at hobby corner before we headed to the cabin to get ready for our second gala night. Tonight was a masquerade theme and the cheapie masks I’d bought online were surprisingly comfortable to wear.
Dinner was a rather delicious beef wellington after which we high tailed it to the theatre to watch Mark Billingham and Christopher Brookmyer be indiscreet. They’ve obviously performed together before as they were a great double act. The stories they told were hilarious. We enjoyed a nightcap in the Queens room watching the ballroom dancing accompanied by the ship’s orchestra.
