Old Friends

Pre-Covid, we used to meet up with Lou and Sarah in December for a festive get together. But then Covid came along, peoples lives changed and we sold our flat in Chester, and we haven’t met up on a regular basis for a couple of years.
So it was great to be able to get together tonight for a meal and a catch up - despite having to contend with Storm Darragh for most of the day. Nothing too bad, though it was quite blustery and wet at times. Definitely some damage done by the storm though as we noticed a large chunk of Helsby was without electricity when drove through tonight.
It was really nice to be able to just chat and laugh this evening - as well as enjoy a very tasty meal - as the rest of the day had been quite downbeat. Visited mum and sister before heading into Chester for a bit of shopping but we couldn’t find anything we wanted to buy. Well, nothing we couldn’t get in Kendal anyway. We had originally planned to go shopping in Liverpool today but couldn’t trust that the trains would be running because of the storm, hence heading to Chester.
A bit blowy on the M6 on the way home but a trouble free journey otherwise. Safely back at home now and hoping the wind will die away overnight so we don’t have to battle with it again tomorrow.
