What a day!

We have had a very blustery day here thanks to Storm Daragh. .
We had a guest artist at our art day today. We were painting animals in a mixture of media. The artist gave us two options, one was a normal view of an animal. The second was a polar bear in negative space (it’s quite hard to paint a mostly white animal on a white background, so you paint the background then define the animals features with the shadows). It seems odd, but it does work. Shadows and highlights make something look 3D. An interesting day.
I went out to get a sandwich at lunchtime and saw an awning blown off our greengrocers shop. It made quite a bang, and fortunately there weren’t many people around so the only casualty was the awning.
Today’s tea is gingerbread. A slightly sweet ginger flavour. Quite nice.
