There and back
We set off in heavy rain to drive over to A’s and go with her to the Marchmont Christmas Fair. Some flooded sections on the way, but otherwise was fine. Just before we arrived she phoned to say it had been cancelled as they’d lost their power, but since we were nearly there we carried on and had a coffee and cake with her. Seems ages since I’ve been over…nice to see the work completed on their garden (too wet to go out in it though!), see Paisley again who was very cuddly, and admire all her decorations and lights that they’d put up. We chatted for a while, about the history of many of her decorations, their plans for Christmas and for the house, then we drove back via a couple of shops to get some more decorations and some food for the day. Once we were home I made some green soup and after we’d eaten we walked round to Summerhall to look at their craft market. It was busy and the stalls were pretty good. I bought a pretty bird garland for Sa but nothing else, although there were some lovely things there.
We came back and set to putting all the rest of the decorations on the tree…think it’s done now! I was also pleased to sort the remote control lights out too (although, as it turned out, not quite!). Chatted to Mt as he walked the dog, in the dark! They’ve decided to drive up rather than come on the train, plus dog and cat, so that’s going to mean a busy flat when they’re here! Chatted about AR’s birthday next weekend and plans for her party and for Christmas until he’d got back home then we settled down to watch Strictly. As usual the scoring didn’t always align with their comments but it was a good semi final.
Made pork casserole for supper and ate that afterwards then another episode of Black Doves which we're enjoying, before bed.
