One man and his dog.....
The day started with pouring rain as I peered through the blinds at 6:32 this morning. I got back into bed with a groan, thought pleasant thoughts for a little while and then sat up and pulled my iPad up from the side of the bed to catch up on blips and to start reading a book I had been sent to review.
I got up soon after 8 and went upstairs to watch Sunday morning rubbish on the box until the weather cleared up and it turned into the most gorgeous day. Out we went, taking the long route into town. The town was busy as usual and to be perfectly honest, you'd never know it was a Sunday. Long gone are the days when most people spent their Sundays on their knees before getting back to sinning again on Monday! Well, there has to be something good about Mondays, doesn't there?
I wasn't in much of a mood for wandering in and out of shops today but I went with the flow and trailed along behind mom as a dutiful daughter should. In Debenhams came the excitement of the day..... I'm not sure how to describe this but I have started so I'll have to tell you now. As wonderful chats are a bit awkward while I'm here, I am resorting to text chats for a while and my usual lovely caller said he would send me a picture to make me smile every day. Well, that works and I'm usually grinning like a loon in all sorts of places! Anyway, I was having a bit of a text chat as mom disappeared off to the ladies loo and today's picture came through. I was smiling away to myself as you can imagine, when suddenly, so suddenly I nearly dropped my phone with the shock, mom's voice woke me up from my daydreams over my right shoulder as she said 'Aren't those modern phones great? But why are you looking at men's underwear?'
I NEARLY PASSED OUT!!!!
I babbled something about looking for boots to wear with a skirt on the net but was just getting to the right department....Dearie me!
Anyway, we left there soon after and we went round the corner to Café Nero where I had a large Chai Latte to calm my nerves. That was very nice I must say and I think mom was satisfied with my explanation as she suggested going into Hourstons (Ayr's posh department store) to look for boots on the way home. Phew!
Mom went straight home and I carried on down to the sea front to get a photo for today's blip.
