A Promise Made...

...A Promise Kept. 

I remember well the day that Notre Dame Cathedral burned....It was a  shock...unbelievable, devastating.. .I watched the news coverage of it and cried. To think that it might be lost! Could it ever be brought back to its glory? And then I thanked my lucky stars that I had seen it ..many times...and felt sad for those who had not....for those who had put it off until retirement or whenever. One expects that such places will always be there...

I remember Macron promising the it would be restored in 5 years and I could not believe that was possible...Well, it was....

I watched the re-opening on TV today and cried again - when Macron addressed and thanked the firefighters and all the workers gathered before him who had made that promise come true...

What a moment....
