We spent a happy few hours with an old friend who moved to Perth 3 years ago. It was fascinating to hear about her experience, and that of her family, of moving to somewhere so far away. It’s 5 hours flying to Sydney, so it’s even so far away to other Australians.

Now we have boarded our expedition ship, with 114 other adventurers, bound for Tasmania. Fremantle Harbour is not the most picturesque. The Captain has warned to expect very rough seas round Cape Leeuwin tomorrow.
