My first, almost finished, bird has, an almost finished, friend. As of now, they share two wings... I also managed to start preparing my third (and last) bird. Then there're two left for others to create.
The first I did was to blend my colours by carding them together (like yesterday) and I did a lot of it (feeling it in my muscles right now...), so we'd have blends ready. Then I started adding colours to my second bird, interrupted now and then by customers.
One of my coworkers went out with the kettle filled with boiling water and I was curious, so I followed her outside... She was thawing the frozen moss outside on a bench we have by pouring hot water on it, and I thought it hilarious! But, as we say in Sweden (sorry for the bad translation...) 'All ways are good ways, except for the bad ones'. Which kind of means that all ways to get a solution to a problem, are good ways... except for the failed ones. :)
The boss from the 'park group' came and we started chatting and having a laugh, as we usually do.
Then I continued needle felting and had a talk with my boss about the order of the six birds we got... We agreed not to take such orders again, customers could buy what we'd produced. This customer also ordered a 'fir in a jar', which also isn't something you can order. Also an agreement between me and my boss: those jars we have materials for will get maid to sell in the store, not as an order. She would tell this to the supervisor taking this order. We need to think about what we can make, and not push ourselves to please customers.
Another thing happened at work... A big one, if you know my boss; which I do... She came in with fir branches and she said 'It's a shame to throw these away. Can't we use them for something'. My eyes got as wide as they possible could be and I just stared at her. She started giggling and knew what my look was about. She is the first to throw things away! A plant looking somewhat not good... straight in the bin, or a real threat to move it to the compost (which often has the intended result: plants often pull themselves together ;D )... She's been going through the cellar storage like a clearing storm, not wanting to save anything! And now this!! I asked my supervisor J next to me if he heard what she said, and he thought she said to throw these (fir branches) away, but I told him that it was the opposite! I said 'I'm shocked! I'm really shocked!', Looking at my boss, she smiled at me and laughed a bit. She's gone soft!! She asked what we could do with those, and I suggested a pot. I went and got one of our old copper pots, that are for sale, and suggested it. Another coworker took on the task to arrange the fir branches, It looked really nice in the old copper pot. :)
When it was 15 minutes left, my boss said I could leave. 'You never leave early' she said and sent me on my way.
And I went home to crash on my sofa...
