Fragrant Foliage

It’s been a very dull and rather chilly day. After the morning dog walk I went to the allotment and shovelled wood chips onto the fruit beds that still had bare earth on them. Then I planted some new raspberry canes - a summer fruiting variety - into the bed I cleared a couple of weeks ago. It was warm work so the steady northerly breeze was appreciated for its cooling effect! Finally I cut some foliage (including rosemary and lavender) that I plan to use in a festive wreath for the front door. I’ll gather some stems with berries, including holly, before I construct it.

Andy’s felt improved today, so much so he made some individual rhubarb sponges for dessert tonight.

Sunrise today was at 7.56 and sunset at 15.58.
