Tree of Lights
The final day of my course. I wasn’t sorry to be inside in the dry and the warm. The rain came down hard and relentlessly. As I looked out of the window it was being driven across the field by the strong wind, creating a murky half light.
I didn’t get outside today until after the sun had set and darkness had come down on the village. But it was dry and mild, and the fresh air felt a tonic after being inside all day. People had been busy decorating in the rain, festive lights had appeared in new places - in gardens and at windows - brightening my way as I walked.
Today I’m grateful:
- To complete my course. The sense of achievement and the privilege to have been in such a safe and nurturing environment these past three days.
- For the cheerful festive lights in the streets and gardens. They really do make such a difference.
- For a warm and comfortable bed to sleep in. I’m looking forward to resting.
