Charcoal!

Had all the washing out on the lines (the mud covered stuff from the slip yesterday) and we nipped out to do some errands.
Came home to see this. It may not have been too big a problem but for the fact that the washing was hanging above it and clearly it had hit the washing.
Next door neighbours were having a new log burner fitted in their front room so I don't know how the workmen managed to fly charcoal half way down our back garden - but it must have been when they removed the original burner's flue which I saw lying on the grass in their garden.
Our house has been shaking with what seemed like a pile driver coming through the walls and the noise has been deafening. I couldn't even hold a conversation with Terry for ages as we had to shout really loudly to make ourselves hear over the din!
I went upstairs in the computer office bedroom which is furthest away from the racket and shut both of the other bedroom doors to lessen the noise.
I went out and swept up the charcoal later on and hope there wouldn't be any more.
Terry filled the bird feeders - we've had a number of feeding frenzies with all the birds that are coming now - they keep battling!
