Poinsettia

Flower Friday and of course at Christmas it has to be a poinsettia.
This is the one I bought at M& S. after I had been to Sainsbury’s where they were nearly all dead and dying.

This is a variety of Euphorbia and so those look-a-like red petals are really ‘ bracts’ .
The flowers are tiny , unassuming yellow structures.
Always try and choose a plant that hasn’t shed pollen, so look for the pollen showing in the centre of the red bracts.
Best of luck!

If you are feeling a bit fed up with the dismal weather I have something to cheer you up.
A most uplifting and dazzling performance by Lang Lang at the Re- opening of Notra Dame, in Paris.
He plays Concerto No.2 by Saint - Saëns, accompanied by the Philharmonic de Radio France Orchestra, conducted by Venezuelan, Gustavo Dudamel.
It’s easy to find on YouTube. See PaulaJ ‘s link below.
Absolutely brilliant.

Cheese Advent Calendar No. 13.
Red Leicester ( again!)

Joke:
I treated myself to a very expensive barge pole the other day.
I thought I’d push the boat out.

Go on laugh or at least titter!
