The Promise of Trees

...after a couple of arboreal tragedy shots recently, it's nice to go with something a little more positive. This is the standard at the centre of some six thousand new plantings at Westonbirt Arboretum. You can see them ink the background, ranked up in mixed order and very tightly planted. I assume they either expect some losses, or more likely they will be dug up and relocated later. I wonder if they'd like to offer us a specimen tree to replace our willow... hmm... I am, after all, a Friend of Westonbirt. I wonder if they might be a friend to us here... #nothingventurednothinggained ;-)
