Let Sleeping Dogs LIe

Spike had a second restless night which meant I did too. I got up at 3am to find him pacing around the living room having scratched up both of his rugs, and the throw blanket on the couch he sleeps on. I felt so sorry for him that I broke down and gave him a sedative and got him back onto our bed where he fell asleep within a quarter of an hour. I, however, laid awake for most of the rest of the night trying to figure out what on earth could possibly be causing this occasional anxiety. He's been fine today, if a bit groggy and quiet. We've both been sleeping it off for most of the day.

I don't know which truck toiled up our driveway last night, but the new shoes shown in extras were left on our porch. These Swiss engineered shoes are lightweight, well balanced and super comfortable. The only problem is the hole that appears over my right big toe after about a year. I've gone through at least three pairs of black ones and decided that it was time to step out, so to speak....I'm going to try to stick some moleskin on the inside of the shoe where my toe hits in hopes of extending its life. This pair has a rocker sole, which will take some getting used to and perhaps an additional quarter inch heel lift....Kathy told me that she has three clients who are all wearing heel lifts after a knee replacement.

Just as well that another rainstorm has arrived, due to get quite a bit stronger tomorrow. We hunkered down and had a very quiet day today....
