A day at the beach
Today we visited Tenby and decided to spend some time at the beach. Last time we were on the beach at Tenby it was far to cold for swimming or playing in the sand.
Today however, was perfect and after mastering how to walk on the tricky sand, CJ ran up and down, played with his bucket and spade and chased his ball around. We also ventured into the sea and had a splash around - but I think it was a little cold and a bit overwhelming for him as he wasn't keen on waddling out to far and preferred to let just his toes be covered! After the tide had gone out and we could walk then length of the beach we strolled down to the town for some lunch - with CJ also walking most of the way with us - a huge achievement for someone so small!
The lovely beach day almost had a sad ending though, as for the first time ever, monkey decided to stray from the safety of the buggy. We didn't notice that he had slipped his lead until walking back the from lunch - so back we headed to re-trace our steps. The further back we got, hope began to fade, with so many kids and dogs on the beach how could monkey still be there? But then, right back at the start, where we pushed the buggy onto the sand - monkey was just chilling on a road cone, watching everyone as they walked onto the sand. We don't know who saved monkey but would like to thank them very much - it is so great to see that someone recognised that monkey was loved and that a child (or his parents) would be frantically searching for the favourite toy, so they put him where he could been seen!
Before driving home we stopped at A&C's for a quick cup of coffee and catch up. CJ ran around there garden while we chatted. The perfect way to end a busy long weekend break!
