Tour de... the North

We had a meeting in Liverpool at lunchtime today, and I'd rather hoped that afterwards we might visit a couple of Bob's pubs, but Abi went to see the ENT consultant, this morning, and was readmitted to hospital. (She's had an inflammation on the side of her head, which she says is not one of the normal features of the condition.)

Consequently, the Minx and I left Liverpool straight after the meeting finished and drove across to Sheffield to spend the rest of the day with Abi. 

The ward was incredibly busy and although I could see that the staff were doing their very best, we had to advocate a little for Abi. I think we did a good job; we got what Abi needed without upsetting anyone or making ourselves unpopular. 

As someone who's worked in the NHS for sixteen years, the Minx was able to be sympathetic whilst gently pointing out the things that weren't being done the way they should. Enough said!

I was sad to leave Abi there, so I said I would go back again tomorrow.
