Snowing, then raining!

All through the day it has been cloudy and snowing, to the extent that once again it took a half-hour to dig out the car.
We needed the car in the evening as we drove off to town and Rose's to share a pizza or two. Rose also got one of Jan's mini Christmas cakes and a couple of mince pies. 
While we were there the snow changed into sleet and later tonight it's supposed to change to rain!  Rain, in December! How horrible.
As I was writing this our house rumbled loudly and there was a huge "Thump" as all the wet snow on the back of the house slid off and crashed into the ground. Tomorrow I'll be digging out the way to to the cellar!!
The snow racks recently added to the front of the house seem to have held the snow back, as they were designed to do. Hooray!
