A Chocolate Umbrella
Today's image is another emergency blip. It may look like a close-up of the wrapper of one of Tunnock's sweet treats but it's actually the surface of an umbrella that my sister received as a recent birthday present. As soon as I saw it I thought its graphic qualities and that famous red and white colour scheme would make for a good image (or in this instance my only image). Plus I thought I should pay tribute to one of my favourite ever biscuits of all time and surely one of Scotland's finest exports - the Tunnock's Tea Cake. I'm sure I could probably devour one the size of an umbrella if I really put the effort in!
Rather remarkably - considering it was literally staring me straight in the face - I was actually struggling for a title and it only first came into my head because I suddenly remembered we have a sweet shop in nearby West Malling of the same name.
This traditional sweet shop has aimed to become known for its fun and quirky presentation since it opened in 2011 and the owners hope it is seen as a 'go to' shop for something a little out of the ordinary, especially for birthdays.
Their specialist chocolates and truffles are made in their chocolate room (I'd love to have a chocolate room!) above the shop and it is very much a family business, with all hands on deck during busy times and one of the owners' children has even become a chef as a result.
All that talk of chocolate is making my mouth water so a return visit must be due soon!
