The Good, the good-enough, and the ugly
We've been to Aldi, Waitrose (twice) and the farm shop. I've cleaned four windows with my new window-cleaning kit. I've removed the net curtains from the sitting room window and discovered that, when the sun shines and the windows are clean, it's actually much brighter in there. The windows aren't perfect (see top right, that's the bedroom window) but what with the gutters having been cleaned, everything's looks a bit better. The Leylandii tree viewed through the window is our neighbour's.
I almost had a conniption when Steve mentioned the spare room. Earlier in the day he'd mentioned that his friend P is coming with us to a concert tomorrow night. I suddenly realised the implications of this: he meant that the friend is staying in the spare room ! The same room I've been shoving boxes, Christmas cakes, ladders, etc, in, for weeks! Fortunately I'd done a bit of cleaning in there last weekend, along with the window, but the junk! The clutter! Quickly I moved most of it into my study, which poses a problem because I've got to work in there on Tuesday while the rest of the world goes crazy/drinks coffee/wine/wraps presents. Then I cheered up and chucked on some music, made the bed ,and moved on to the next project. The room is now guest-worthy, but...
I'm trying to find something on Netflix/.Disney that does not involve complicated plotting, murder or guns. Steve is making a GF Christmas cake for me and periodically asking my advice
I'm also puzzling over the fact that several people have said to me lately that I remind them of their grannies! I do bet remind myself of my grandmothers. They were born in the Victorian or Edwardian eras and were cut from sterner cloth. On reflection. I think it's my collection of vintage biscuits tins that makes people remember their grannies.
