Be strong!

It’s been a successful first day. We were very apprehensive as it’s 5 years since we last skied and we’ve lost a lot of fitness. Even getting the ski boots on and walking to the gondola bubbles was tiring!

It took half an hour on the bubbles to get to the ski area but up there at 1635m the sky was blue and the sun was shining so we headed to the button tow for a few goes on the green slope. I find it more tiring standing of them than skiing. I think it’s coming back but slowly!

We met the family for lunch. At that stage the boys weren’t happy. It was boring as they weren’t getting to do much but the afternoon was better and they can stop which is important! #2 daughter persuaded Mr C to join her on a blue run. They misread the map and found themselves detouring off the blue onto a steep red before it rejoined the blue but they survived. I stuck to the greens.

We dropped off of skis and boots to the ski shop for storing. The ski shop man was very pleased we’d been out and enjoyed our day. He helped pull off my boots! Daughter, boys and I had a relaxing swim and sauna when we got back. The men rested.

The veggie option tonight was soup, salad and a choice of rice and peas or chips swimming in fat. Just as well we didn’t come for the food.
