My Eyes Have Seen

Eldest grandchild and his friend did a sterling job narrating for their (brilliantly creative) Nativity play in church this morning, and next eldest was a sweet angel with her friends (extra).

All the family, plus my brother, Bryn, here for a roast chicken lunch, and then off to rehearsals and a baby shower. We had a welcome nap. Some went to the 4pm carol service, and we've just come back from the 7pm one - our church has amazing musical talent, including son-in-law, who sang, and daughter-in-law, who played her violin.

Mary's Voice: Simeon's Nunc Dimittis (now dismiss), as he took Mary's forty-day-old baby in his arms:
Sovereign Lord, as you have promised,
you may now dismiss your servant in peace.
For my eyes have seen your salvation
which you have prepared in the sight of all nations;
a light for revelation to the Gentiles
and the glory of your people Israel.
