Brown Thrasher
Up early, much to do. I put up the Nativity set and other decorations after dusting in the rec room. Hubby helped me in the dining room. With 25 folks joining us, we needed the leaves put in the tables and bringing up our folding tables from the basement. I put up my “COVID” tree; will be a future blip. Decided we must have a few cookies for dessert. Thankfully, Pillsbury did most of the work. I just had to bake them. The kids will be happy. They are soft sugar cookies. I’ll make snickerdoodles and peanut butter kisses later. And maybe I will even get a cake at the firehouse auction that ends tomorrow evening. Hubby has already decided he wants the chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. I want the coconut one. If we do not win, Kristen will bring a cake for Skylar’s birthday. This brown thrasher visits every year. It often eats dropped seeds but today it decided to enjoy the suet. Jamie invited us to go to a festive farm this evening. Isla now has RSV so he is going to postpone the visit until tomorrow. Things are looking good at the moment. Tomorrow, we will shop, vacuum, make the appetizers and get out all the serving stuff. For now, I believe I need a nap. Wishing you some restful moments. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit. I look at your journals every free moment but there aren’t many these days.
“Mr. Brown Thrasher ...
Thrasher in the plum tree
Who ya hidin' from
Chirpin' in the canopy
Bold as the sun
A chirp to the Old Crow
A whistle for Bobwhite Quail
A bow and a wink for a Yellow
Swallowtail”...Randolph L Wilson
