Festive Haworth

As well as trying to fit in the Saltaire Advent Windows (see yesterday and Flickr link) a must for me in advent is a visit to Haworth. This comes about from childhood memories of Christmas Eve in Haworth.
There are no Advent windows here but many of the Main Street houses and shops have lovely decorations. This house had two decorated windows and combined with the lovely spring flowers I thought it looked great. We will soon be looking forward to them. ( This is the same house blipped a few years ago)

We managed to get the last table in Cobbles and Clay for coffee. Many of the tables were booked and some were doing pottery decoration which is where the Clay bit comes from in the name. I had some lovely toasted fruit bread with my coffee.

Walking back to the car we heard a train at Haworth Station. We missed it but everybody seemed to be waiting on the bridge and platform so we waited too. Slightly disappointed when a Diesel turned up!

Back in the village we called at the butchers. Chris went to M & S for our order first thing after he'd had his haircut in Guiseley. Passing the village butchers on his way home there was a huge queue, they were still there when we set off for Haworth but when we came back it had gone. He got our pies so all is well!

I've added the Haworth pictures to the Advent window ones from yesterday in a Flickr album here. The earlier ones were taken when it was still a bit light apart from a couple taken the week before when we were singing at the United Reform church.
A much darker day today but at least the wind has gone!
Not long to go now!
