A Magical Day - The Nutcracker in London
MONDAY
A memorable 230-mile round trip from Nottingham to London to see The Nutcracker, performed by the Birmingham Royal Ballet at The Royal Albert Hall. It was a truly special day, starting with a delightful lunch at the Kensington Gardens Bar.
We had excellent seats at the front of the stalls (see extra). We could almost touch the dancers, indeed one of the mice put his hand on my shoulder and we were so close to the stage that, during the iconic Waltz of the Snowflakes in Act I, we were showered with paper snowflakes!
After the show, we popped into a café in South Kensington for a quick coffee. There was a long queue for the tube so we took a taxi ride back to the car for the drive back to Nottingham.
All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience—one we’ll definitely remember. And, of course, a special thank you to Harriet and George for the gift of the tickets, which made the day even more special.
Oh, and by the way—Maple Pinecone the well-travelled beaver joined us for the adventure! See the extra for "A Canadian in London".
