Snow!

After snowberries yesterday - today I bring you real snow!! I bet there will be hundreds of snow blips today.

Awoke this morning (at 3 a.m.) thinking that it was getting light, so I got up - and when I got downstairs I looked out of the window to find that the source of the ‘light’ was a covering of snow. It was about 4 inches deep. Sleet had been forecast overnight..so this was a bit of a shock.

Anyway - I did get out for a walk - it was hard work, so I only managed 2.5 miles!

Main blip is of the village church and churchyard. Added a couple of extras - the first is of one of the village entrance signs with its cap of snow and the second is of the post box at the end of the road which had been snow-blasted from the side!

There was not much traffic about and the A1(M) was restricted to one lane southbound - with vehicles moving slowly in convoy. This of course means that the omnipresent road noise is greatly reduced - something that has not happened since early in lockdown.

Rain arrived shortly after lunch - so things may well freeze solid tonight!
