Rose (Day 3528)
My first job of the new year, after a false start on Friday, was a trip out to Evie to look at the possibility of swapping a mixer shower to an electric shower. Normally this is the sort of thing which is done when a bathroom is being replaced and the customer is unhappy with the performance of the mixer shower. I normally advise against using an electric shower as their performance tends to be fairly poor. On my arrival at the property I found that the customer already has mains pressure hot water, so changing to an electric shower is going to be a massive downgrade in performance. Furthermore, to change from the mixer shower to an electric shower is going to involve removing shower enclosures and tiles or wet wall and re-fitting everything to suit the plumbing and electrical connections of the electric shower. It is utter madness in my opinion, but the customer is sure that it will save money in the long run. Given that they will soon have solar panels providing electricity, they will have lots of hot water at very little cost. I am trying my best to encourage them to leave things as they are.
With that out of the way, I headed to Finstown to deal with a leaking toilet cistern, then into town to collect bits for a job tomorrow.
I was home in time to take Sigyn for a walk, and we were remarkably lucky to miss the rain showers, and after a very quick lunch I headed off to another little job in Orphir.
Back home I spent far too long working out ballpark figures for the shower swap job that I really don't want to do before sorting out the van ready for a trip overseas tomorrow.
No pictures today despite having been out with Sigyn, so a pic of one of my beautiful wife's roses will have to do.
