Hell And High Water
Though not fully recovered, Brian is feeling much more like normal now. I'm still struggling, mainly because I keep feeling sick and can't eat properly to get my strength back. Nothing tastes normal.
Today I had a conference phone call regarding a care review for my Mum. That was hard work as I couldn't hear a lot of what was going on. I could hear the care coordinator who was conducting the review, but not all the replies, though the coordinator gave me regular recaps. I felt a little bit sorry for the nurse, as the coordinator was very thorough with her questions and would do well as a police interrogator. But it's the best way I guess! Nothing has changed massively from the last review, so hopefully things will continue as they are.
Later we went for a walk down to the river. Its water had gone over onto the road earlier but was back to the top of the walls when we went there. Despite the walls it is a river, not a canal - the sides are reinforced at this point! The lock was flooded and not traversable. I took this shot near the river - obviously!
We went to Morrisons later. I tried to find something to get me eating. I know I need something nutritious, but also something that doesn't trigger the nausea. I have some tinned fruit salad and yoghurt, and I want to eat it but I am cold!
I bought some little pot desserts I believed were on a multibuy offer, according to a notice on the shelf. When we got home we saw they'd charged us full price. I think they had only included certain flavours in the offer, but that was not made clear. Very annoying.
The last vestiges of Christmas have now been removed from the house and Minstrel is sleeping on my lap! Maybe I'll ask Brian to bring me fruit and yoghurt whilst I have my own personal radiator on me!
