FLOWER FRIDAY ON A FROSTY MORNING...
...and a beautiful sunrise too - see my extra shot.
I’m not usually up that early, as you know, but as I had to be at SW by 8 o’clock this morning, I put my alarm on for 6.45 so that I could have a shower before I went. I knew it would be cold, but even I wasn’t ready for -6°C when I got into the car. Thank goodness for “bottom warmers” but I could also have done with a heated steering wheel too.
Just as I was walking out from SW, a lady caught me up and told me that her husband had been in hospital all over Christmas and New Year, having had a heart attack while they were in London. She said he was in St. Thomas’s Hospital and had been given the best treatment; when I enquired, she said he was getting over it well. She also said that whilst in the hospital, in her coat pocket she had found one of my little wooden hearts with the word “Hope” written on it - and she clung on to that hope as the days went by. Of course, I did have some more in my pocket today, so got one out and it happened to be “Peace” - so I was able to give her that for today.
I then delivered two Bags of Hope; I found the first one easily, but the second one wasn’t quite so easy - however, it was my own fault I got lost because I didn’t listen to Mrs. Satnag and chose to do my own thing - just proves that ignoring someone who knows better than you is not always a good thing! It certainly wasn’t today for me.
When I got home, before I took my coat and shoes off, I went out into our garden to try and find some flowers - and clockwise round my collage they are : Cyclamen, Primula, a Passionflower bud that never flowered and finally, another Primula, which came from the Wedding Basket of friends and which they gave to us after their wedding 15 months ago.
They are all beautiful and so resilient - and as I said earlier this week, we could learn a lot from these little blooms.
I found this quote the other day, and thought it was so true, particular for those of us who Blip every day:
“If you truly love nature,
you will find beauty everywhere.”
