Pedals
I'd been a keen music fan for many years by the time I went to university, which is where I met my friend, Ash, who played guitar in a band called 'The Zane Grey Incident'.
Ash was, and remains, a very smart man but he was also the funniest person I'd ever met. We quickly became fast friends.
I'd like to think he enjoyed my non-stop questions about music and being in a band. For the first time, I came to understand things like drum kits, and, more pertinent to this post, some of the tech used by bands. Like guitar pedals.
Briefly, each pedal has a different job, processing the signal from the guitar on its way to the amplifier. The guitarist activates the pedal by stepping on it.
A few years ago, I bought the pedals in today's picture. They're smaller (and cheaper) than most conventional pedals but they do a good job.
Since I've been having lessons, I've bought a handful of new pedals, and I don't use these little ones anymore, so this morning I took them into the office to give to Dom for his son.
