Frost shadow
It was a very cold night last night. The thermometer in my bedroom dropped to 13°C in the early morning before the heating kicked in.
Been a busy day. A morning dog walk on powdery frost on paths but crunchy frost on grass. Stewed cooking apples for apple puree cake, chopped vegetables and halloumi to roast, started preparing Seville oranges for marmalade.
Last year found a method for marmalade which involves cooking the orange shreds in a slow cooker overnight. Cooking the shreds is the longest part of marmalade making and this is a less messy, energy-saving method. The kitchen will evoke the Mediterranean tomorrow as the aroma of orange will pervade the house.
Second dog walk after lunch. Spotted this frost shadow on our dog walk.
Seems like I've been on my feet all day. Now going to relax with a film.
Stay warm everyone.
