Well that was easy.  Me.

Many thanks to all of you for dropping by and scattering stars are hearts for my 4,000th entry.  I will get round to thanking everyone personally, although it might take a little time.   I am touched (but not often).

JJ had a hearing test at Boots this morning.  It lasted just over an hour and was very thorough.  He has severe hearing loss in some areas and in all cases is way below what is normal.  

One interesting point is that the brain has to work extremely hard but not in a good way and severe loss increases the risk of developing dementia by five.  Mild hearing loss increases the risk by two.  Hearing aids lessen the risk, so get your hearing tested whatever your age.

I am going to have a quick hearing test next week to establish any loss of hearing.  I don't like loud noises, don't like the television volume up high but can't hear grasshoppers, although I do hear small birds twittering in the trees.
