Return of the nuthatch
A welcome return of the nuthatch today. The weather seems to have turned quite a bit chillier again, and accordingly at lunchtime the garden was alive with birds of all shapes and sizes swooping around the feeders. Unfortunately these included a huge number of parakeets making their customary loud squawking noises, and they were hogging the feeders so much that at one point I went outside and flapped my arms wildly and clapped noisily at them, which sent them flying off into the tops of trees in the distance. They weren’t gone for long, but it gave the smaller birds a bit of respite from their selfish and bullying habits.
My photo is also very noisy I'm afraid, because I was standing indoors in the family room, all lights turned off to prevent reflections in the windows, and I was using a fast shutter speed.
