End Of The Line
Or, more accurately, end of the lines. Panto 50 is well and truly over and my script has been separated into paper and plastic, ready for recycling. To be honest, I could probably have done this a week or so ago as I didn’t look at it after the first couple of shows. Though some would say that perhaps I should have looked at it more closely, rather than just using it as a set of guidelines…
The programme will be filed with all the others from the past 30 years. I like looking back through them from time to time, remembering the productions and the characters involved.
Today has been all about relaxing though. For the first time in many weeks we have been able to have a long, leisurely walk on a Sunday morning, free from the time pressures of either a rehearsal or a performance in the afternoon. It was bitterly cold, but invigorating at the same time. I felt much better for having been able to stretch my legs for a couple of hours, and the stop for a warming coffee halfway round was most welcome.
And this afternoon and evening have been spent doing absolutely nothing! Which is just what I needed, because intensive rehearsals for the next play start tomorrow. It’ll be a little while yet before I can put that script down…
