The Gatekeeper

Our herb garden is somewhat dominated by a Golden Marjoram (Origanum vulgare) and by allowing it to flower, it attracts vast numbers of insects including bees of all varieties.


This orange Gatekeeper butterfly (Pyronia tithonus) or Hedge Brown was also drinking its fill at the well
